6th February 2017, State House in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania has sworn a General as Chief of Defence Forces.
President John Magufuli has sworn in General Venance Mabeyo as the new Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) at the State House in Dar es Salaam today.
General Mabeyo was appointed last week to replace General Davis Mwamunyange who has retired.
Mabeyo before being promoted to a full General served in Tanzania Peoples Defence Forces (TPDF)’s Chief of Staff.
President Magufuli who is also the Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces swore in Major General James Mwakibolwa as the new Chief of Staff, assuming the role vacated by General Mabeyo.
Mwakibolwa was also promoted last week to the rank of Lieutenant General.
