Inspector General (IG) of Police, Joseph Boinnet has said that Boni forest and surrounding villages have been pacified of terrorist activities.
Normalcy according to the IG has returned to three villages in Boni forest, Lamu County that have been grappling with Al-Shabaab terrorists.
Boinnet said after months of terror clean-up by multi-agency, security forces have registered positive results.
Operation Linda Boni as it popularly known has seen terror pockets being neutralized in the area including villages namely, Mararani, Basuba, Kiangwe and Werna.
Operation Linda Boni has drastically reduced threat of terror especially in the Coastal and North Eastern regions pf Kenya.
IG Boinnet made the remarks after completing a week-long tour of North Eastern and Northern Coast regions.
