MRAP – Mine Protected Armoured Vehicle Unveiled to Kenya Police Service

Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta recently unveiled third batch of police equipment and vehicles.

Notable is the The CS/VP3 amoured carriers.

In Brief

1. The CS/VP3 is an APC armoured personnel carrier in the category of MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle) vehicle designed and manufactured by the Chinese Company Poly Technologies.
2. The APC vehicle is designed to provide secured transportation for combat personnel and materials.
3. The CS/VP3 APC is motorized with unspecified Diesel engine.
4. The armored vehicle can do road speed of 100km with a maximum cruising range of 800 km.
5. The CS/VP3 is also able to do slopes up to 60%, side slopes to 30%, vertical obstacle of 0.6m and fording depth of 1.2m.

The CS/VP3 is a very popular APC and is now is being used by the Nigerian and Ugandan police.
