Somali National Army has refuted reports published by local media that Al-Shabaab terrorists have captured the border town of El Wak in Gedo near Kenyan border.
Col Osman Nuh Hajji, a Somali military commander termed the reports as erroneous and Al-Shabaab's warfare propaganda.
Hajji noted that Somali army soldiers are in full control of El Wak and emphasized that Al-Shabaab has never taken over the border town as reported.
“The capture of El Wak is only Al-Shabaab propaganda (warfare strategy) and false information. I can confirm that Somali National Army are still in control and have never vacated the town,” he added.
