South West State forces backed by Somali army killed at least 10 Al-Shabaab terrorists and injured scores on Thursday night after the terrorist group attempted to attack their military base near Baidoa town.
According to army commander, General Ibrahim Yarow, the government forces (SNA) and South West State forces successfully repulsed the terrorists and recovered assortment of weapons.
"Al-Shabaab militants attacked our base here early Thursday night, then heavy fighting broke out and we repelled the terrorists. We killed 10 Al-Shabaab fighters and wounded several others. We lost some soldiers and the situation is calm at the moment," Yarow was quoted saying in Somalia media.
