Heavy fighting which erupted two days ago between Al-Shabaab and pro-Galmudug fighters Dabagalo and Dumaye Villages in Central Somalia has not ended.
OSINT reports on Monday and referenced by Somali media indicate that the fierce fighting has claimed about 20 people while several others are reportedly injured.
The clashes erupted after pro-Galmudug fighters launched a counter attack in Dumaye area against Al-Shabaab militants who were forcibly demanding Zakah from the locals.
Dumaye is located about 50 kilometers away from the Al-Shabaab-held Harardhere town and frequently attacks Dumaye and Dabagolo residents demanding for zakah and other things including food. Zakah is an Islamic levy on wealth.
