Kenyan soldiers at a past training in Embakasi FILE PHOTOKenya Defence Forces (KDF) is taking part in the regional military exercise dubbed USHIRIKIANO IMARA’.
Before the exercise official launch by Kenya’s Defence Cabinet Secretary Amb. Raychelle Omamo on 11th November 2016, Kenyan Major General George Owino, Exercise “USHIRIKIANO IMARA” Director, had made visit to the exercise headquarters and contingent forces located in parts of Kwale County.
Major General Owino took a familiarization tour around the contingents to see on-going preparations for the exercise.
Close to 2000 troops are taking part in the field military exercise being held in pursuant with EAC states protocol on cooperation in Defence affairs.
The exercise brings together forces from five partner states comprising of Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda.
Major General Owino also toured the sites where the KDF Engineers brigade is currently conducting CIMIC activities.
