Kenyan government working with South Sudanese authorities deported James Gatdet Dak who is the spokesperson of the armed opposition leader Riek Machar to the capital Juba.
Kenya is determined to deport and freeze assets for South Sudan’s high profile figures who are enjoying peace in Kenya while fueling conflict to their country.
James Gatdet Dak was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in a well-coordinated operation between Kenya and South Sudan’s authorities.
Dak has been used by Machar as mouthpiece to fuel conflict in the world’s youngest nation while two of them are out of the country.
SPLM-IO opposition officials in Addis Ababa Friday morning confirmed to media channels that Gatdet was flown to the capital Juba Thursday afternoon.
No official statements from either the government of Kenya or South Sudan was made.
