Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir has given South Sudan two months to force the Sudanese rebels operating inside South Sudan to leave the country.
Sudan accused South Sudan of harboring the armed rebels saying it’s against what the two leaders (al-Bashir and Kiir) signed in the 2012 cooperation agreement that both countries commits to refrain from supporting the rebel groups from other country.
Sudan’s president made the remarks in Khartoum over the weekend after the U.S. State Department issued corresponding statement last Thursday indicating the South Sudan government is harboring Sudanese rebels.
At a meeting Saturday of the National Shura Council, Bashir warned Juba to immediately cut ties and expel the Sudanese rebels.
Bashir said if Juba does not comply with the agreement, Khartoum will no longer abide by it either.
