United States through a press statement issued through the Department of State strongly condemned terrorist attacks recently witnessed in Somalia.
Mark C. Toner, the Deputy Department Spokesperson issued the press statement condemning the attacks carried out against the Ministry of Transport and other Somali government offices in Galkaayo.
In the state statement, U.S. further extended her condolences to those affected in the attack that a car bomb detonated near an open market resulting to death of 15 civilians and more than 80 injured.
The statement further stressed on U.S. commitment in ensuring Al-Shabaab destabilizing Somalia is defeated.
U.S. reiterated its stand with people and government of Somalia in helping rebuild a more peaceful, inclusive and secure country with help of AMISOM forces.
