The Middle East based Islamic State on Wednesday3rd August 2016 in an audio released in pro-militant media announced the installation of Abu Musab al-Barnawi as the new Emir for Nigeria based Boko Haram.
Boko Haram under the leadership of illiterate Abubakar Shekau pledged allegiance to Islamic State Emir, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi in 2015.
Under his leadership Boko Haram extended it cruelty to the neighbouring countries including Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
The militant group is characterized by kidnapping of innocent women and children with notable kidnapping of over 200 Chibok school girls.
The deposed thoughtless leader of Boko Haram who has been missing in action released an audio message on Thursday denouncing the declaration of Abu Musab al-Barnawi as new leader of the group and insisting he is still in-charge.
There have been claims that Shekau may be incapacitated or even dead from past Nigerian military operations.
In the audio, Shekau described declaration of Abu Musab al-Barnawi as new leader of the group.
With scenes unfolding Boko Haram rebellion over the Islamic State imposing on a new emir to take over the leadership of the militant group, the rivalry could be the end of an era of the jihadist group waging insurgency in West African nations.
