Uganda police have arrested two Kenyan nationals over illegal trafficking of arms and entry.
Confirming the arrests, the police spokesperson, Mr Fred Enanga, said the police arrested two Kenyans, Nataka Nasicho and Peter Mukua for illegally crossing into Uganda with intention of trafficking guns a pistol and an SMG AK 47.
Enanga said the due have been on the radar of the crime intelligence officers from July 15, 2016 after analyzing the pattern of cross border crimes whereby they profiled the suspected criminals.
The two were trailed from Malaba to Namboole where they purportedly met their ‘seller’ Enanga said while addressing addressing the media at a weekly press briefing at Naguru police headquarters on Monday.
Mr Enanga said upon establishing their intent, the police rounded them up and they were taken to Jinja Road Police Station where they are being detained as investigations continue.
