Saturday 23rd July 2016, reports from Somalia indicate that AMISOM’s Ethiopian troops backed Somalia forces, conducted an operation targeting Al-Shabaab base in Southern Somalia.
The fierce encounter between the militants and the allied forces lasted for several hour at Rahole village located some 50 kilometers north of Diinsoor town.
The operation which was intelligence led was targeting a senior Al-Shabaab commander according Diinsoor district commissioner Ibrahim Mohamed Nur.
Several militants reported killed while at least two civilians killed and multiple people were wounded in the crossfire between Al Shabaab and the coalition forces.
