A senior official in African Union Mission In Somalia (AMISOM) has called on Somali citizens in regional diaspora to return back to Somalia and help the government rebuild the country.
Maj. Gen. Fidza Dludlu, AMISOM’s Head of Mission Support who led a delegation of AMISOM officials met with Somali diaspora communities in Kampala on Tuesday believed Somalis will be helpful in rebuilding their nation.
During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Dludlu, who stood on behalf African Union Special Representative for Somalia (SRCC), Francisco Madeira share AMISOM gains made in the fight against Al-Shabaab terrorists.
Dludlu, called on Somalis to go back to their country saying most of the territory previously held by Al-Shabaab have been liberated.
Somali now requires its people with skills to boost the country’s socio-economics.
The meeting comes at a time Kenya is on the move to repatriate nearly half of Dadaab refugees back to Somalia by year-end.
