Military reports from Somalia indicate that at least one high value Al-Shabaab commander was killed while another was captured after a heavy fight broke out between the militants and SNA in Hudur town, the capital of Bakool region of southwest Somalia on Saturday.
According to SNA commander in Bakool region, Aden Mohamed, Somali government forces carried out security operation in several localities of Bakool targeting Al-Shabaab militants.
The main operation happened at Yab-yab village, some 27 kilometers where SNA killed one Al-Shabaab commander identified as Hassan Isak Nor, another commander who was head of tax collection was captured for questioning and give more insights on the militants operations in the region.
No SNA casualty reported from the Saturday security operations.
SNA backed by the AMISOM troops have scaled-up security operations against Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab in the south and central Somalia in a renewed effort to root-out the militants and to liberate the remaining regions.
