OSINT SUMMARY
Officers drawn from Somali’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) on Wednesday 18th May 2016 killed a number of Al-Shabaab combatants in Mogadishu operation.
The operation was launched following an Al-Shabaab accomplish shot a civilian and wounded a young girl.
On 15th May 2016, NISA displayed seven seized computers, flags and Islamic documents from suspected militants in Howlwadag district of Mogadishu.
The items seized including the flags used by the Islamic State militants. A Toyota tecnhical vehicle also recovered and 90names of people suspected to be associated with the newly established Islamic State in Somalia.
NISA said a cell was known to them has trying to conduct recruitment in Mogadishu and the officers had been following leads to dismantle the cell.
The seized laptops/computers were installed with explosive devices ready to strike at undisclosed location in Mogadishu.
