Turkish warplanes conducted air assaults against PKK positions in Qandil region in northern Iraq killing 18 militants.
According to a statement issued by the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, Turkish jets carried out air raids on the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) hideouts in the troubled northern Iraq killing 18 PKK fighters.
The warplanes strikes also destroyed the PKK weapon safe-house in Qandil region, according to the statement.
Eighteen militants of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) were killed as Turkish warplanes struck PKK targets in northern Iraq late Monday, the Turkish military said on Tuesday.
In another separate incident, Turkish forces have killed 13 Daesh/Islamic State terrorists in northern Syria, a security source has confirmed.
Turkish forces launched strikes by artillery and armed aerial drones followed rocket attacks launched from Daesh-controlled territory in Syria on Turkey’s southern Kilis province Tuesday.
PKK is waging a separatist war against Turkey; the outfit is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
