Recent military reports from Somalia indicate that four civilians including a woman were injured in a twin blasts that occurred on Thursday evening in Balad Hawo town in Gedo region.
According to Balad Hawo district commissioner Yusuf Abdirahman Abdulkadir, unknown assailants hurled grenades into the residence of Abdifitah Nur Matan who a Somali federal lawmaker.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but Abdulkadir said the assailants maight be linked to the Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab terrorists who are seen to be targeting government personnel and security forces.
The lawmaker escaped unharmed from the attack but four civilians including a woman were slightly wounded in the twin explosions, Balad Hawo DC said.
The grenade attacks comes a day after the Balad Hawo city commissioner Yusuf Mohamed survived an assassination attempt after a bomb fitted into his car exploded outside his office.
Balad Hawo is located close to the volatile Kenyan border with Somalia.
