Breaking reports from Somalia indicate that a suicide bomber detonated his vest while hugging an official in Somalia’s Puntland.
An Islamist militant suicide bomber put his arms around a local official before detonating his vest blowing them up in the Somali’s autonomous state of Puntland on Thurday 31st March 2016.
The Islamist militant group through their pro-websites and media channels claimed responsibility with the groups military spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab saying they targeted the treasurer of Galkayo, and police officers assigned to him.
Confirming the suicide attack, Major Nur Ahmed, a police officer, told journalists that Saeed Ali and the guards were targeted as they attempted to enter a car. Few civilians passing by were also injured in the blast though officials could not immediately confirm number of casualties.
