The militant’s death toll rose to 42 following intensified security operation in Ben Guerdane in southwestern Tunisia, security authorities said on Wednesday.
On Tuesday 8th March 2016, security forces killed at least seven terrorists in an ongoing confrontation in Ben Guerdane close to the Libyan border, the interior and defense ministries confirmed in a joint statement.
The heavy fighting broke out on Monday 7th March 2016 between the Tunisian forces and a group of terrorists who attacked both police and army posts in Ben Guerdane.
The fierce encounter on Monday left 29 militants killed, five civilians and four security officers.
The government intensified security operations announcing a night-long curfew in the affected border region.
