Kenyan military warplanes over the weekend bombarded Al-Shabaab bases in Somalia.
Military reports indicate that KDF which is a contingent of AMISOM peacekeepers in Somalia conducted successful air raids targeting Al-Shabaab training camps in areas near Bula Hawo town, south of Somali’s Gedo region.
KDF F-5 warplanes fired missiles on the militants’ Camp in Bula Hawo village some 20 kilometers from Garbaharey, the regional capital of Gedo.
The air raid saw more than 20 Al-Shabaab militants killed in the militant’s Sidimo aka Catama training camp. Al-Shabaab bomb expert Maalim Sheriff was also killed in the raid although Al-Shabaab has denied that their bomb expert wasn’t killed.
Corresponding reports from local resident to local media outlets indicate that KDF fighter jets struck Al-Shabaab strongholds in Buurhano and Ara’asa areas that lie a few kilometers of Bula Hawo town, near Somalia-Kenya border.
Kenya Defence Forces have been on the frontline on the war against the Al Qaeda affiliated Al-Shabaab with a force of about 4,000. Other AMISOM force contributing countries include Uganda (UPDF), Ethiopia (ENDF), Burundi, Djibouti and Sierra Leone.

The problem is to have and use all these sophisticated and expensive technologies and be the looser for years and in the final analysis. It would be another school for the fool to learn who between the two, that is, the well trained and with fighter jets and the ordinary and untrained jungle one, is the wise one. Ya hajabu kweli haya.
