The two girls had sought refuge at the camp disguising themselves as refugees escaping the Boko Haram militants.

2 suicide bombers detonated themselves, killing over 60 people and seriously injuring over 80 more in the early Tuesday 9th February morning incident in Dikwa town in the northeastern Nigeria. Dikwa is 85km outside the capital of Borno State which is the core of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Authorities attributed the delay to release the information promptly to a breakdown in telephone systems that affected the area.
According to HUMINT on the ground the two girls disguised themselves as refugees at the Internally Displaced People Camp on Monday evening before blowing themselves up at the crack of dawn with explosives they had concealed.
Security officers are holding and question another girl with whom the two suicide bombers sought refuge with to establish the operational base from which they were sent and other crucial information about the insurgents.
The attacks by the militants on camps and other refuge shelters has been rare but these year this is the second attack with this being the second with a very high casualty level due to the dense population in the IDP camps.
Boko Haram has increased the frequency of its hit-and-run attacks since its loss of territory to the Nigerian military with most of the attacks orchestrated by women. This has however been met with equally lethal force by the Nigerian and joint multi-national task force troops which have intensified their counter-attacks cutting off the insurgency’s supply of amenities, identity cards, fuel and weapons.
