In effort to eliminate and defeat Al-Shabaab combatants, Galmudug troops will in the coming days integrate into SNA to support their military operations in fighting the terrorist group.
According to president of Galmudug State, an autonomous region in central Somalia Abdikarin Hussein Guled, his local troops will integrate into the Somali national army (SNA), back up their operation in a renewed effort to defeat Al-Shabaab resurgence.
Addressing a press conference in Adado locality, Guled reiterated Galmudug commitment at fighting Al-Shabaab militant along SNA and AMISOM troops to restore peace in a country that has faced militancy threat for decades.
Guled noted that Galmudug forces have successfully been able to battle out and defeat Al-Shabaab combatants securing the Galmudug region saying joint efforts is needed to liberate the remaining areas.
Guled noted that regional army have a role to play in helping Federal government strengthen SNA to counter Al-Shabaab menace especially in the stricken south and central Somalia.
