A Rwandese Muslim Cleric who had been on police custody for recruiting youth into ISIS was gunned down on 24th January as he tried to escape police custody.
Muhammad Mugemangango who had been detained in Kanombe Police Station in Kigali was gunned by down after he attempted to flee by jumping off a police vehicle. Muhammad and the police were coming from a search at his residence in Kimironko-Kigali when he jumped off the vehicle.
Rwandese intelligence and the police have been the past few months been monitoring to unmask a terror network taking root in Kigali according to public tipoffs. Muhammad is among the cleric recruiting for ISIS and fostering extremist ideologies to the youth in Rwanda according an intelligence report.
Rwanda being in the larger East African region that has been rocked by terror-networks presence mainly the al Qaeda and recently ISIS trying to gain access into Somalia place her at risk of having terrorist elements.
