15th December 2015, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter has arrived at the Incirlik Air Base in Turkey on a moral visit to US troops stationed at the base.
The Defense chief left shortly on Monday after holding a joint meeting with President Barack Obama and the National Security Council in the Pentagon that discussed issues on countering ISIS insurgency in Middle East.
Carter was received by the Adana Governer Mustafa Buyuk along with other US and Turkish officials.
The Defense chief intends to discuss strategies with his military commanders to be used to counter Daesh/Islamic State Takfiris.
While briefing on reporters who had traveled along with him, Carters said it is important that Turkey comes up with better ways to control its border with Syria to help bar flow of foreign jihadists.
U.S. and it coalition partners need to come up with concrete strategies and new tactics to accelerate destruction and elimination of the insurgent groups.
U.S. and allied coalition partners have recently been claiming progress in the fight against ISIL in Syria, President Barack Obama also reaffirmed that the war on ISIL will be won.
