Somalia security forces in Jubba on 12th December 2015 overran pro-ISIL al Shabaab militants in Barwaqo village, 12 km from Dhobley town in Southern Somalia near the Kenyan Border.
The area had been captured by the Pro-ISIL militants on Tuesday last week. The immediate recapture by the security forces without any soldier-casualty is a clear indication that the Daesh affiliates in Somalia are weak, uncoordinated and ill-equipped to say the least.
Somali forces are on patrol in the area and on high alert to capture a few members of the cell that they ran away in the attack that killed 4 militants.
The two rival factions in al Shabaab i.e. the Pro-ISIL and per-Al Qaeda have been fighting with the latter executing members of the rival faction seeking to shift loyalties to ISIL giving the security forces a leeway to execute attacks against the militants.
