Wednesday 18th November 2015, France Police managed to foil yet another second major terror attack in Paris in their pre-dawn raids as ISIS suspects were preparing to attack Charles de Gaulle airport.
The police thwarted the attack when they conducted a raid on a suburb in the city which perceived masterminds of the multiple attacks last week were reportedly to have been killed.
During the morning raid, a woman suicide bomber blew herself up while another engaged the SWAT team on gunfight but was killed in the northern Saint-Denis suburb in siege that lasted for seven hours.
The Police fired about 5,000 rounds of ammunition during an early morning exchange of gunfire as the terrorist cell barricaded themselves in the hideout.
During the raid, eight terrorists were arrested but according to Paris prosecutor Francois Molins the number did not include Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, the Belgian jihadist believed to be the ringleader of last Friday’s massacres which left at least 129 dead and scores wounded or Salah Abdeslam, one of the suspected gunmen who is now at large but also being pursued.
Molins also said the pre-dawn operation had neutralized a “new terrorist threat” that targeted Charles de Gaulle airport and the city’s financial district La Defense, according to reports.
