
Militants linked to Islamic State Takfiris have gunned down Egyptian Brigadier General in the country’s trouble Sinai Peninsula.
According to a press release by Egypt’s Interior Ministry confirmed that the Daesh linked militants shot the general overnight (Saturday 19th September 2015) in el-Arish which is the capital of Egypt’s North Sinai province.
This a second high profile shooting this week by the Velayat Sinai militant group, a Daesh militant affiliate in Egypt. Daesh is a derogatory Arabic acronym for Islamic State, ISIL or ISIS.
Earlier this week, Velayat Sinai militant group killed Khaled Kamal Osman, another general with Egypt’s Interior Ministry, in a drive-by shooting in the same area.
Velayat Sinai militant group have increased their offensive attacks mainly targeting Egyptian security officials and other innocent civilians in Restive Sinai Peninsula for last two years.
Velayat Sinai militant group has claimed responsibility for most terrorist’s activities in Sinai Peninsula. In November 2014, the militant Takfiri group pledged bayat (oath of allegiance) to Daesh, which is committing heinous atrocities in Syria and Iraq.
In the past few weeks Egyptian military has been engaged in fresh surgical offensives against the Velayat Sinai militants in Sinai whereby hundreds of militants have been killed in the operations.
