Recent military shake up in Somalia saw to the appointment of Somalia’s finest man to head the SNA and lead the military in staging operations on the militants.
Gen Mohamed Aden Ahmed was appointed by Somalia’s law makers on Thursday 3rd September 2015 to replace Major General Dahir Adan Elmi who was sent home after two years of tireless service to Somalia.
And on the same day, Somalia defense minister General Abdikadir Sheik Ali Dini witnessed the passing of contingent of newly trained soldiers from SNA whose training was funded by the government of United Arab Emirate (UAE).

The exceptional training that was offered to a new contingent to make up a new lot of SNA amounts to an increasingly capable Somali National Army in handling their security hitches.
Coupled with being placed under an adeptly trained man, Intelligence sources can foresee a change in military response to terror threats in the country.
General Mohamed Aden Ahmed is a skilled man, adept with wealth of experience and formidable background inside military command that is expected to bring SNA to a higher level. He has experience as Commander of the Parachute Commandos Battalion in Ballidoogle and Division Commander in Belet Weyne, Baidoa and Dhusa Mareeb. General Ahmed also has the experience of participating in Joint Forces Exercise with forces from Russia, Egypt and USA.
AMISOM efforts to strengthen SNA have also achieved a lot. Troops have always had a backing of the regional task force, keen about the weakened military arm but who are now rising to their meet terror threats with more capability to handle the militants.
