Summary
Following the escalating violence, the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will be sending an envoy to Burundi soon to help in diplomatic talks between the government and opposition.
The UN Security Council (UNSC) also called on the opposition and the government in Burundi to hold peace talks aimed at ending the ongoing political turmoil in the African country.
