Analysis
A national intelligence officer in the evening of August 2, 2015 was stoned to death in Donholm, Nairobi.
The incident draws a picture of mistaken identity besides the tactical blunder of the intelligence officers.
Mistaken for a criminal the Intelligence officer was killed. Obviously one cannot differentiate intelligence officers from civilians.
Tactical blunder compromised the officer. In the first place, he shouldn’t have tried to control the traffic at all. Secondly, intelligence officers must always adhere to professional ethics such as 🙁 keeping calm, watching events keenly, & never react to violence; either verbal of physical. Always ‘proactively’ act, and never reveal your identity)
His colleague managed to escape with injuries.
In July, a Nairobi-based NIS officer was shot and killed under unclear circumstances in Mombasa.

Always adhere to code of conduct on secrecy.
Bad judgement. Intelligence officers need to go for refresher courses on how to behave , here in Kenya they usually blow their own cover themselves by constantly bragging in bars and night clubs as well as in the neighbourhoods where they stay with lines like ” do you know who I am ? ” in a very pathetic show of bravado and this is the result of it all. They also hold accounts on social media where they Bragg about themselves and post reckless pictures and posts of themselves making them not only a risk to themselves but to others who may be working with them. Once a person joins the intelligence community, one should cut off of social media links completely.
Noted. Thanks
R.I.P KIM….
Don’t mean to be rude. Someone working for an intelligence agency should use some common sense. Even an al shabaab terrorist does not do stuff like that. Im wondering if NIS recruits are tested for IQ
These officers are showing off to everyone, they are secret service but they keep on telling everyone their identity.
Rest in peace
