Al Shabaab Terrorist group remains a great threat facing East Africa countries. Speaking Monday 1st, 2005 during 52nd Madaraka day celebrations, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his counterpart Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni vowed to eliminate the remaining Al Shabaab Terrorist Cells in East Africa.
President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that new strategies to curb radicalization amongst youths will be employed. The Government will not relent on war against terrorism. Security agencies will work together to eliminate this menace devoted to death, division and destruction activities against Kenyans in the name of religion.
Raft programmes to reduce levels of inequality, equipping the police force and new programmes to curb youth radicalization will be the government’s top priority.
President Uhuru Kenyatta urged full cooperation between parents, guardians, civil society organizations, teachers, community leaders and religious leaders if we are to win the battle of radicalization.
President Uhuru Kenyatta commended the effort various security agencies have put which have led to considerable reduction in crime rate in the country.
The President saluted individuals who give information, who voice suspicions, who stay vigilant and especially our forces (Police force and Kenya Defence Forces) who fight, guard the country from the terror outfit for the sake our safety and security.
Uganda President, Yoweri Museveni also commended the good job the security agencies are doing to secure her people and properties. The President cited the strategy Al Shabaab is employing on soft targets is a sign of defeat. Al Shabaab is being defeated that is why they are targeting College students and common civilians who are innocent.
Al Shabaab is in crisis. The Islamist jihadist has no food, money to sustain their terrorism activities and with recent top commanders surrendering is a sign of defeat.
