Six climbers who were climbing the famous Mt Rainer are dead.
The six who disappeared three days ago on Washington’s Mount Rainier may have been victims of a deadly avalanche on the mountain, the National Parks Service said on Saturday.
National Parks Service said that rescuers searching for the 6 Mount Rainier Climbers found the climbers scattered gear.
Search teams found the victims climbing and camping gear in snow more than 3,000 feet of Mount Rainier.
The Mount Rainier climbers fell or got caught in an avalanche of snow, rock and other debris, after their gear was found at about 9,500 feet (2,900 meters) on a steep and dangerous area of the mountain.
The Mount Rainier climbers including two guides from Seattle’s Alpine Ascents International, set off on Monday for a five-day ascent along the north face of the glacier-streaked mountain.
