Twenty Iraqi militants were killed in confrontations against members of the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in northwest of Syria.
In a statement, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the confrontations broke out in Kafr Hund village in the countryside of Selqin city in Idlib, in the wake of accusations that an Iraqi family planned to join the Islamic State.
On Sunday, the U.S lead coalition announced the launching of the second phase of operations against the Islamic State in al-Desheisha, Syria.
Many members of the Islamic State fled from Iraq and settled in north of Syria to escape the wrath of the U.S coalition forces.
