Somali US-trained ‘Danab’ Raid Al-Shabaab Base in Lower Shabelle Region

Military reports from Somalia indicate that the country’s US-trained forces popularly known as Danab attacked an al-Shabaab base in Yaaq-doomaar village of Lower Shabelle region over the weekend.

According to the sources, the soldiers following on intelligence raided the militant’s base and killed several militants.

SNA and AMISOM forces have intensified operations on militant’s pockets/hideouts/bases in southern Somalia.

Separately, on Sunday 15th January 2017, KDF responded to an attack on their convoy by the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab, killing over 23 members of the terrorists group, 'Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen (HSM), in Gedo region of Somalia.  

Others militants escaped with serious gunshot wounds.
