SNA End Mogadishu Restaurant Siege by Extremists

SNA troops have ended bloody siege by Al-Shabaab extremists on a Mogadishu restaurant.

Al-Shabaab suicide car bombing hit two neighbouring restaurants in Somali’s capital leaving at least 18 people dead.

The militant hit the restaurant targeting high profile figures but they ended up killing innocent Somali’s. Also a Syrian man who worked as a chef at one of the restaurant was killed in the powerful blasts. Also five bodies of young Somali girls killed by the militants were also found near the rubble of a blood-spattered and bullet-marked wall.

Survivors of the attack were led by soldiers from the Pizza House restaurant building. The injured were taken by ambulances.

SNA troops responded, surrounded the restaurant building and used guns mounted on the backs of vehicles to neutralize the militants. Troops entered the ground floor while the insurgent snipers held positions upstairs.

The siege ended Thursday morning after all five attackers were killed and the soldiers secured the building according to a senior police officer.
