Kenya Police Arrest Four Suspects Over Community Leaders Shooting in Kwale


Kenya police on Sunday 29th May 2016 confirmed to have arrested four suspects over fatal shooting that left four community leaders in Kwale dead.

According to a brief by the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, police had mounted several manhunt operations in recent weeks targeting persons linked to the murder in south coast region which led to the apprehension of the four suspects.

Those arrested by police over Kwale murders include; Nassor Juma Mwahaga, Abdalla Jafari Mwavyema, Athman Rama Mwanyonje and Omar Juma Dzinza.

The manhunt aimed at arresting eight other suspects believed to have returned from Somalia following intensified air and ground operations by African Union peacekeepers (AMISOM).

Somali returnees sought by police over criminal activities in the coastal region include; Ali Haji Kolagwa, Ali Salim Mwagutsi, Said Athman Mjinga, Said Hassan Seti, Ali Hamisi Mwaligulu, Ali Musa Mwagutsi, Hamisi Musa Mwaligulu, Alfan Juma Mwakambirwa.

IG of Police also cautioned public to remain vigilant during the holy month of Ramadan. In case of any suspicious person, activity, citizens urged to report to the police for action.
