KDF, Police Launch Joint Operation to Hunt Al-Shabaab Terrorists in Lamu

Contingent of KDF and police have been dispatched in a joint operation to hunt down Al-Shabaab terrorists who had ambushed on a police station at Pandanguo village, Lamu West Sub-County.

During the razed attack, the terror operatives burnt a communication mast. Four police officers’ sustained injuries and 14 survived unhurt.

According to police source, number of terrorists were killed following hours of counter-attacks launched by reinforcement teams.
Al-Shabaab linked terrorists used RPGs (rocket-propelled grenades) and other small arms in the attack in which several tents were destroyed.

The security officers were still pursuing the terrorists 12 hours after the attack.
