Anti-narcotic Detectives Seize Heroin, Arrest Seven Wanted Drug Barons in Mombasa Swoop

Anti-narcotic detectives on Monday arrested several wanted drug barons and seized heroin haul worth millions of shillings in Mombasa.

Confirming on the operation, regional police boss Larry Kieng said the detectives also managed to impound seven vehicles hidden in a house within the Nyali suburb.

During the intelligence-led swoop, Sh4.5 million, $10,000 cash believed to be proceeds from drug smuggling was recovered.

Police still interrogating the suspects after the court granted them five days to complete their investigation.

“The war on drugs must be sustained. We believe the seven are allegedly behind the drug trade in the country.”

The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Ahmad Kheri (Tanzanian), Hope Brenda Mbaga and Musa Athumani Kihara.
