Al-Shabaab Commander Defects to Somali Government

Open-Source Intelligence Sources confirm that Al-Shabaab commander, Osman Muhumed Madey has defected to the government of Somalia.

Osman Muhumed Madey is a former Aide to ex-Shabab Intel Chief.

Intelligence sources further report that Osman Muhumed Madey defected mainly for his safety after Shabab officials accused him of helping Zakariye Ismail yo escape and defect to authorities.

Bishar Adan Abdihakim, the Somali government  acting district commissioner of Luq confirmed that Hassan Dhubi, another Al-Shabaab mid-level commander has surrendered near the Somalia-Ethiopia border.
