In summer of 2015, a Libya-trained gunman shot indiscriminately at a beach killing 38 people and injuring many more. The attack prompted a retaliatory action by Tunisia that including building a security barrier between the two countries.
The first phase of the 200km barrier as of February 6th has been complete; fully installed with sand banks and water trenches.
The plans have been rolled out to start the second phase that includes installation of electronic equipment with aid from Germany and the United States. The security barrier will protect the border and stop the terror threat emanating from Libya.
The barrier is projected to make the border impassable by vehicles from either countries unless at the designated security checkpoints. The barrier as it currently is has already reduced smuggling into Tunisia and given the security forces a monitoring advantage over the terrorists and criminals exploiting the current chaotic in Libya.
Libya has been a haven for the ISIS since the death of former leader Muammar Gaddafi making her an access point for the Sahel point and linking the region with the Middle East exposing her neighbors to terrorist attacks.

Brilliant
Kenya should also consider making one with its neighbouring Somalia. And then planting 10m landmines from the wall so as to wade off the intruders. By the way what economic benefits does kenya enjoy from Somalia?
Nothing. They gleefully export terror across our borders against our wish. Anything encroaching our borders from their side except at the designated points should be put out of action. We are not living in 600 AD like them, they can continue with their archiac practices on the other side of the world / border violently (because #peace is a word so alien to them)
If Kenya gains nothing from Somalia, border wall is paramount.
muguka inaendanga sana
Its look like 3rd wrld war ahead

What happened.. On our wall
