The Mombasa High Court on Wednesday, 24th June 2015 denied bail to Khalid Mohammed an Imam who preached at Mlango wa Papa mosque as War on Terrorism intensifies.
Mohammed is suspected to have major links with the Al Shabaab terror group and was first arrest on 23rd May this year in Bondeni.
Several contraband materials were recovered from his house including; a hand grenade, a detonator, plastic multiplier explosives, blank passports, CDs purported to have inciting material.
Prior to his arrest reports indicate that he had been rejected by the mosque officials for being an extremist and radical with his preaching.
He was rearrested by the ATPU on 25th May after being released on KSH 50, 000 police bond.
Mohammed is additionally charged with being possession of a stolen car that he changed number plates.
The recent denial of bail for suspects charged with involvement with the Somalia based terror outfit Al Shabaab reaffirms the collaboration of all arms of government in fighting terrorism in Kenya.
The war waged against the jihadist is a collective responsibility of all arms of government which the Kenyan government is seen to foster effectively to totally eradicate the militants.
