Intelligence reports show that a Somali diplomat in Kenya had connections with Al-Shabaab terrorist cells operating in Kenya.
A third secretary at the Emba
ssy of Somalia in Kenya was charged with terrorism related charge of detonation of an improvised explosive device at Kenya’s main airport, and the largest one in East and Central Africa.
On January 16th 2014, the IED exploded at the Java coffee shop inside Kenya’s main international airport. Two men involved in the attack were killed by secret service agents and an attack of larger scale effectively preempted.
The Somali diplomat, the third secretary at the embassy, was charged along four others of Somali origin for involvement in the airport attack.
The Kenya police were thorough in the investigation. This is an issue that has direct ramifications on our national security and can even affect our diplomatic relations, hence we cannot simply arrest and charge without facts.
The police compiled strategic evidence, phone records that confirm the Somali diplomat was communicating with the terrorists who bombed the airport restaurant.
The diplomat talked to them on their way to the airport. It is not a coincidence that they were talking when these terrorists were just about to carry out a deadly mission, it means he knew them and was aware of their mission unless otherwise.
The Somali government has remained silent on the issue and has never issued a statement on the arrest and subsequent prosecution of its diplomatic official in Nairobi.

It looks like the usual cheap propaganda of Kenyan corrupted police in defending themselves when ever they commit in human things.
