MILITARY REPORT
13th December 2015, in the recent military reports from Somalia, coalition forces heavily armed with artillery weapons and armored vehicle managed to drive Al Shabaab militants out of a strategic village near Somali-Kenyan border on Friday.
Addressing the local media on the incident, Aar Mohamud Mohamed an administrator of Giriley area confrmed that the government forces, Somali National Army (SNA) backed by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops of AMISOM contingent seized Dhuyac-Garoon village without much resistance from the militants.
The security forces managed also to recapture Barwaqo village which is about 12 km from Dhobley town in Southern Somalia near the Kenyan border.
According to military official Col. Haybe Ahmed Abdullahi, one of the commanders of Jubba Administration in Dhobley town, briefing the journalists on Saturday confirmed the joint forces rooted out the militants pro-ISIS from Barwaqo neighborhood in lower Jubba region on Friday

This is encouraging but just wondering why are still fighting within 12km from Kenya border? This is far too close and seems nothing much done to secure Kenya border towns after 2 yrs of incursion.

@Ismail ,,With regards to size of somali you can understand the logistics nightmare and also considering its not conventinal warfare but lethal guerilla tactics then you can appreciate what hardship our boys and somali govt are undergoing.. Indeed its a miracle how they’ve keep things quiet for this long..God bless them for their Valor.
