March 7, 2016, AMISOM troops backed by SNA forces launched a major security swoop that saw a senior Al-Shabaab commander surrender to the forces in near Qoryolay town in lower Shabelle, southern Somalia.
SNA commander in Qoryoley, Ahmed Gabow Bule confirmed the Monday security operation that saw allied forces captured Mohamed Ali Gele without much resistance.
Mohamed Ali Gele was Al-Shabaab commander operation in several areas in lower shabelle region. Security forces have been hunting him down for a long time.
According to Bule, the militant will undergo interrogation for more leads before being transferred to the central government of Somalia after the debrief.
