Former prime minister Raila Odinga was attacked by an elederly man during a rally to drum up support for his referedum in Kwale County in the coastal area of Kenya.
Mr Odinga was dancing with traditional dancers when a man appeared from the crowds and struck him on the back.
The man also hit the area governor Salim Muvrya before Odinga’s personal seceurity grabbed him and whisked him away.
Odinga and Governor Muvrya pleaded with the security detail to release the man.
