Kenya Special Forces; Kenya’s Hidden Defence Jewel in the Forces

Kenya Special Forces Operation

When Kenya’s forces define what patriotism is, then the Kenya Special Forces comes to one’s mind. These are the men who risk their lives beyond what the ordinary patriotic man would do for their country.

Kenya’s special force rarely comes to the lime light but when they do, they are a force to reckon with. Their presence was first felt by most Kenyans when the men first landed foot in Kismayo, Somalia during the Somali operation. Since then, they have been known to be the trend setters in the defence forces.

Sources say these troops are far much better in what they do, compared to Kenya’s RECCE Squad.

The might and swiftness in the Special Forces unit operations does not come easy. The training to combat terrorism and criminals in their conventional operation is quite detailed and vigorous as compared to the “usual” military training and operation.

The manner in which they conduct hostage rescue missions, raids, reconnaissance surveillance, anti-terrorism, intelligence collection makes Kenya’s troop stand out as the only unit in Africa able and privileged to use the fn herstal scar cal rifle.

The Special Force commandos missions are often a top secret for Kenya. Being among the best equipped soldiers, the group has voluntarily come together to fiercely defend the country.

Their operations are usually swift, having been briefed of the situation on the ground. In some cases, they are never briefed but deployed to act. Their entourage to the scene goes unnoticed but their presence is felt within minutes of the rescue mission. Some briefing take quite a short time but the boys who are recruited from Kenya Navy, Kenya Air Force and Kenya Army have learnt the art of accuracy in all their operations.

Their willingness to protect the country despite the fast evolving war fare however does not come easy. The troops are privileged to train overseas then come back skilled, well informed and ready to serve.

Little is known to the public about the grueling training these elite forces undergo. An average person is said to be unable to sustain the training.

Their number is also a mystery for the sake of Kenya’s security. They are however trained to effectively get results within the shortest time with minimum or no casualty at all.

The guys are stationed at 20th Parachute battalion and are specifically known as the D company. They train with and are trained by the Navy Seals among others.

I love KDF i love the special forces, good work in operation sledge hammer, but eeeer am yet to totally vouch for them, especially on homeland missions that we know of. i think they need more breaching equipment/resouces for CQB in demolishing doors walls and flash bangs , ballistic shields and that sort of thing
