Eritrea has come out and denied claims of turning back Kenya’s Presidential jet on its airspace ahead of the Los Angeles Milken Institute Conference.
It has further denied claims by a section of mainstream Kenyan media that Eritrea threatened to shoot down the President’s plane at any point as reported by Kenyan journalists.
Eritrea Ambassador Beyene Russom has further clarified that officials at Kenya’s National Intelligence team and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had been officially cleared to use Eritrea’s airspace unlike it had been previously reported by Kenyan journalists.
These clarifications come at a time when speculations over bad diplomatic relationships between Kenya and Eritrea had begun creating unnecessary tensions between the two countries.

Kenyan media has once again been put on the spotlight for failing to relay accurate information which could lead to misjudgment and misinterpretation by international bodies.
The cut-short Presidential flight was destined for Dubai where he would connect on another flight ahead of the Milken Institute Conference.
The President however on Wednesday addressed the forum in Los Angeles through digital space focusing on various sectors in Kenya’s economy which were majorly highlighted in his speech.
Eritrea Ambassador Beyene Russom clarified the same as a response over claims that Eritrea intended to shoot down Kenya’s presidential jet.
As earlier stated by Intelligence reports, President Kenyatta’s jet was flown back to Nairobi due to closure of the Yemeni airspace by Saudi Arabia military.The notice was quite late, say officials.
