The fight against the several Islamic groups across the world could also be intensified if Muslim clerics could also intervene.
The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has challenged every Muslim leader in the country, not limited to Nigeria, to speak up so as to put an end to the menace of Boko Haram insurgency in the country.
Sanusi added that the fight against Boko Haram could not be achieved by only killing the current members. This is because the groups keep recruiting youth across the globe into the militia.
Most of the recruited youth are Muslims. Among the recruits there are also young women. Several others are children.
He adds that the Muslim leaders are in a better position to raise their voices against the terror acts conducted by the groups, especially the Boko Haram in Nigeria.
This will empower the youth positively. Contrary to claims by militia groups who say they have better chances of empowering the youth, and now even children as young as 15 years.
So far, most of the Muslim leaders have been quiet on the extremism seen in different nations.
This comes at a time when the ISIS has has officially accepted Boko Haram’s pledge of allegiance.
