Al-Shabaab may have taken their fight to Djibouti, one of America’s top partner in war on terror after a twin blast rocked the capital.
Two explosions rocked Djibouti’s capital killing 2 people and wounding dozens others intelligence officials confirm.
Two grenade attacks in a busy downtown restaurant La Chaumiere restaurant which very popular with Western tourists left 11 wounded.
Colonel Omar Hassan, head of police in Djibouti capital confirmed the explosives as grenades.
French nationals were wounded in the attack while Dutch soldiers taking part in an anti-piracy mission were also lightly wounded.
Djibouti is has sent troops in Somalia for the AMISOM operation and is also deploying a bulk of soldiers to Kismayu port to replace Kenyan soldiers.
The country is home to ethnic Somali’s and the AFar people. It is relatively peaceful and politically stable.
